STRUCTURED TRAINING - Dance
The correct training for your child is essential for their bodies development. At the Academy we follow the BBO, British Ballet Organization`s syllabi because it is one of the only four accredited by the The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA)and the society of the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET) who regularly meet to address issues of quality, progress, health and safety and all BBO teachers have signed a Professional Conduct for Teachers of Dance Agreement to ensure that your child gains the best possible up to date teaching methods.
GRADED EXAMINATIONS
For students we feel examinations offer a great sense of achievement as well as boosting their confidence levels. It also gives parents an indication of their child`s progress and the Academy`s results give proof of the quality level of the teaching. Nevertheless, bearing in mind that the BBO is amongst the most challenging examining bodies we regularly obtain a 100% pass rate. We offer examinations in classical ballet, tap and modern as well as hip-hop, street dance and jazz in dancing troupes.
HIP-HOP / STREET DANCE
Singularly our most popular class. This urban unique style is simply growing and growing. It is today`s style of dance. We encourage all our students to try this style as it is not only what everyone would like to be able to do, it is also a fantastic workout.
CHARITY SHOWS & INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVALS
We now encourage our specially selected troupes to enter overeas dance competitions and have been successful for two years (2007/2008) at returning from The Prague Dance Festival with many trophies and individual dance awards.
More importantly, we also produce an annual charity show in a local theatre, when the entire Academy performs and enjoys the principle of not only using their talents in the theatre arena, but also becoming part of a team with a single goal in mind - to raise awareness and funds for a local institute (normally a local children`s orphanage or homes for the disabled).
FURTHER TRAINING AND SCHOLARSHIPS
We actively encourage talented students to pursue their dreams further and we are supported by the finest full-time vocational training academies in the U.K. who offer annual scholarship placements i.e. Easter : Elmhurst Ballet School (2 places), Summer : The London Studio Centre (2 places), Summer : The Urdang Academy, London.
